Sorry Guys

3:37 AM 0 Comments A+ a-

Um, I know that there aren't many people who read this blog and I don't write these posts for myself. I've been going through some really tough stuff and I'm really sorry that I haven't posted in a while. If you guys have any ideas on how I can stop what's going on right now I'd accept any suggestions.

Cheers, DFTBA, and Good Night.

I took down my letter to John Green because:

a) He's probably really busy and won't read it.

b) It wasn't my best writing.

c) He's a really awesome person and he doesn't need to be concerned with my petty problems.

I may post another one later if I really need some help. At that point, I really am gonna need you guys to tweet, reblog, pin, and facebook recommend it John Green's way. Actually, I would appreciate it if you guys would do this for anyone that I write a letter to.

I'm really sorry that I haven't been posting and I'll try to get into a better routine for this. A more entertaining post will be out soon guys!

Cheers, DFTBA, and Good Night.

Sick Days

1:19 AM 0 Comments A+ a-

Ok, I'm sick, and I thought I would blog about it since I don't have anything better to do.

This morning, I woke up and started to get ready for school. Only problem? I woke up this morning at 3 am because of coughing and couldn't get to sleep until 5 am. My alarm usually goes off at around 6:20 am, so it wasn't the best morning. Anyway, I started to cough really hard and ended up just going back to bed because I couldn't go to school. At around 9 am I woke up again and moved my little HQ to the side room with the comfy couch and fell asleep again. I woke up at 3:20 pm. I slept for an entire day! Well, an entire school day anyway.

I, as a person, hate naps. When I wake up from them, I don't feel better than I did before. Also, I find it impossible to go to sleep in the middle of the day, but here I was sleeping for an entire day!

So, here I am. Just typing. I probably shouldn't even be on my computer. It makes my head hurt, but I have stuff I really need to do.

So, here's to the ones who go to work and school even though they are sick!

Cheers, DFTBA, and Good Night.

Homesickness Pt. 1

1:06 AM 0 Comments A+ a-

 Homesickness
A long time ago, after I had moved to Japan, I had a feeling inside of me that I couldn't understand. I was homesick. Gradually, after I had lived in Japan for a while, I didn't miss Atlanta quite as much. I began to make a few friends and then my brother was born.

1. Don't think about home.
I know that this doesn't sound like something that you should do, but it does help. This ties in to what is next.

2. Keep busy, or don't.
Being busy is an art. A person can be busy with just about anything so long as they have the correct excuse. So, that being said, pick up a new hobby! Start reading a new book! Start a blog! Knit! Sew! Crochet! Play football (American)! Play football (Soccer)! Do SOMETHING other than sit and reminisce about everything you left behind. It doesn't matter if you are Christian or not, this verse from Ecclesiastes 3 is perfect for this.

"1There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace."
--Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

3. Have an anchor.
No. Not like that. It doesn't matter if you think you are too old for a security blanket or a lucky stuffed animal, it helps. I still have a bunch of animals that I got when I was little, and it really helped.

Anyway, that's all for today. I'm really sorry that I haven't posted in a few days. I've been really busy and if you've seen my Pinterest status, then you'll know that I haven't been at my best lately. Anyway, I'll see you guys later!

Cheers, DFTBA, and Good Night.

Adventures of a Teenage Beginner: Part Deux

6:10 PM 0 Comments A+ a-

Hey guys! Yesterday was the first pointe lesson for +TheNerdyBanana, Aisha, and I took. I think it went pretty well.
We (Aisha, +TheNerdyBanana, and I) had played around on pointe before, however we had never done specific exercises. For pointe, we were at the barre. Let me tell you, it hurt. Kids, don't do what I decided to do. (That being doing dance for a combined 8 years and 6 months and then go on freaking pointe.) I was embarrassingly horrible and as I watched +TheNerdyBanana and Aisha, (Who are really good at this stuff.) I wished I could crawl into a hole.

After what felt like a long time on pointe, we were instructed to change into regular ballet shoes and we did some other exercises. These included pirouettes, double pirouettes, arabesques, etc. We were almost late for the late bus and I just barely made it onto the bus while there were seats still available.

My pointe shoes are pink satin Blochs. Specifically, Heritage Blochs (Pictured Below).  Just thought you guys might want to know.

Well, that's all for now.

Cheers, DFTBA, and Good Night.

My Weekly Song Pick

This week, well, it's gonna be a bit of a sad song....OH WHO AM I KIDDING! It's a really beautiful song and it made me cry the first time I listened to it. It's by Troye Sivan and inspired by the book, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Without further ado, Troye Sivan!

Cheers, DFTBA, and Good Night.

5 Favorite Emojis (Well, more like emojis that describe me, but whatever!)

1:46 AM 0 Comments A+ a-

It's time for another post where you find out a little bit more about me!
🎧 I love music. It represents my heart, soul, and mind all in one short audio clip. I can't imagine living without it.

📚 Likewise, I can't imagine living without books. They are a huge part of my life and have influenced me in many ways. (Looking at you +John Green , J. K. Rowling, Harper Lee, William Shakespeare, Veronica Roth, Rick Riordan, and many others.)

✈️ Ever since I was a child my family has traveled. And when I say travel, I mean hard-core travel around the world. We even moved overseas! (If you didn't know that, you must be new here.) I love seeing new places and immersing myself in new cultures. New food? No problem. Well, it just depends on what it is. If you put a piece of cow tongue in front of me, there is no way on God's green Earth that I would eat it.

♎️ I am a Libra and I while I don't believe in horoscopes, I believe that it actually represents me in many ways. I actually used to sign my emails this way until I had to send a really professional email and I just kept it at Anna Grace.

💖 When I love, I love with my whole heart. I don't just go on whims. I make sure that the person knows they are loved, or at least I try to. If you break my trust, it's most likely broken forever.

So, yeah. That's about it. I'll see you guys later.
Cheers, DFTBA, and Good Night.

My Dance History: The Adventures of a Teenage Beginner

8:38 PM 2 Comments A+ a-

Mmm...This is going to be a painful few months.
So, tomorrow I'm starting ballet. Again. Except this time, it's pointe. Right from when I signed up for this class, I knew it was going to be hard.

I'm being taught by a professional who will remain nameless for the sake of privacy. This ballet class is what's known as 'level 4'. My background in ballet?

  • 8-9 years of combined dance (including ballet, jazz, and tap.)
When I moved to Japan, I did ballet for 6 months and that was it. I just kind of quit. Why? The teacher and other student in my class laughed me to tears. I'd say that was a good reason to quit.

So, over the next few weeks I'll be posting how the class was. Hope you guys are okay with this.

Cheers, DFTBA, and Good Night.

Don't Leave With Regrets

8:24 PM 2 Comments A+ a-

For my friends who wonder why I'm crying this time, click below. If you need a tip for moving, click below. If you want to know a little bit more about who I am, click below.

It started a long time ago. Just after I became an expat and TCK. She asked me to write letters to her every so often. Being the child I was, I kept putting it off. I didn't know that one day she would be gone forever and that I would never get to see her again. Anyway, every time we would Skype, she would say "When are you going to send me a letter?"

A few hours ago, I found a set of stamps and little address stickers with her old address on them. I then remembered how I didn't do what I said I would do. I don't break a lot of promises. If I could time travel once, I would go back in time and send those letters. That's one of the biggest regrets that I have in my relatively short life.

The other day, I started thinking about how I only have about 2 months until I move. As I'm getting busier and busier, I won't have as much time for my friends, making those 2 months even shorter. I then started thinking about the story above.

So, you may be asking, what's the point? Here's the point.

Don't leave with regrets. Fix everything before you move, even with your enemies. There are people that you don't know you are going to miss, and when you leave, you miss them more than anyone. I think I've said enough.

Sorry I didn't post for the past two days. I've been really busy.

Cheers, DFTBA, and Good Night.
