It Is Not Right: A Poem
I wrote this while I was very emotional. Please forgive me, but also please read it.
It is Not Right.
By Anna Roberts
It is not right to kill.
It is not right to hurt.
It is not right to commit any sin that is written,
or remains unwritten in today's standards.
It is not right to scream.
It is not right to yell.
It is not right to demand perfection.
Especially of your child.
Because your child will run into their room.
Just to escape your wrath.
Because your child may cry themselves to sleep,
and think it's all their fault.
I do not kill.
I do not hurt.
The most I am guilty of is living,
living a most luxurious life.
I may not deserve it,
but we are born into our places.
I didn't wipe a counter.
Do I deserve to be screamed at?
It is not right to kill.
It is not right to hurt.
It is not right to scream.
It is not right to yell.
Cheers, DFTBA, and Good Night.
